DAY-SHIFT PERIOPERATIVE / OR RN CONTRACT – CHADRON COMMUNITY HOSPITAL

First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel contract opening for an experienced Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) in Chadron, Nebraska (Scenic Pine Ridge / Nebraska Panhandle region). Operating within surgical services at Chadron Community Hospital & Health Services, this position features a desirable 5x8 daytime schedule (40 hours weekly, Monday through Friday). This role is ideal for a versatile perioperative nurse who thrives across the entire surgical continuum—circulating inpatient and outpatient cases as well as managing pre-operative prep and PACU recovery. If you have an active Nebraska or Compact license and want to earn $2,947/week with maximum tax-free stipends in a tight-knit community hospital setting, this assignment is built for you!

PRE-CALCULATED PAY PACKAGE

  • Weekly Gross: $2,947.00
  • Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,267.00
  • Hourly W2 Rate: $42.00/hr (40 regular hours)
  • Overtime Rate: $63.00/hr

SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

  • Schedule: Day shifts, 5x8-Hours (40 hours per week, Monday – Friday).
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
  • On-Call Structure:
    • Minimum of one (1) weekday on-call shift per week.
    • Weekend on-call rotation: one (1) weekend every 3rd or 4th weekend.
  • Facility & Clinical Setting: Chadron Community Hospital & Health Services.
  • Procedural Scope & Core Duties: Complete perioperative coverage including pre-operative patient workup, intraoperative circulating, and Phase I/Phase II post-anesthesia care (PACU recovery). Caseload covers general surgery, laparoscopic procedures, endoscopy, orthopedics, OB/GYN, ENT, and urology.
  • Core Competencies: Circulating surgical suites, aseptic technique, surgical counts, airway management and vital sign stabilization in PACU, surgical site prep, and physician collaboration.

REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

  • Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of dedicated acute care perioperative RN experience with verified circulating, pre-op, and PACU competencies.
  • Licensure: Active Nebraska State RN License or Compact/NLC Multistate License strictly required in hand at submittal.
  • Certifications Required:
    • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
    • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).

Location Details: Assignment is located at Chadron Community Hospital & Health Services, 825 Centennial Dr, Chadron, NE 69337 (Surgical Services Department). ⏱️ Assignment Timeline: 13-week contract running from October 05, 2026, through January 04, 2027. Call Commitment: Candidate must agree to required call obligations: minimum of 1 weekday shift/week and 1 weekend every 3–4 weeks. Submittal Rules & Compliance: Active Nebraska or Compact RN license must be attached at submittal (no exceptions). Current AHA BLS and ACLS must be active and uploaded with the packet. Verified experience in circulating, pre-op, and post-op/PACU must be reflected on the resume. All Requested Time Off (RTO) must be submitted upfront in the profile packet.
