Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic surgical team. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care and safety.

Shift Details

  • Unit Type: Operating Room (OR)
  • Shift Length: 8 hours
  • Shift Timing: Day shifts starting between 0545 and 0900, ending between 1345 and 1700.
  • Guarantied Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Call duties: Include weekdays, weekends, and holidays, with a rotation among trained RNs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in the Pre-surgery/Preadmission Testing (PATT), Operating Room (OR), and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
  • Manage patient care safely and effectively during surgical procedures.
  • Participate in holiday call rotation.
  • Stay prepared for STAT cases, with a response time of 30 minutes or less.
  • Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an operating room setting.
  • Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Experience with various surgical specialties including General, Orthopedic, OB/GYN, Urology, Podiatry, and Cardiology.
  • Must be willing to cover shifts and call duties during the holiday season.

Additional Information

  • Orientation: A one-week orientation program will be provided.
  • Scrubs will be provided.
  • Registered Nurses are also expected to cover duties in Pre-surgery/PATT and PACU.
