Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse, located in an acute care facility with trauma level 1 status, is responsible for providing circulating services for a variety of surgical procedures, including neuro and orthopedic surgeries. The role necessitates versatility, strong procedural knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires teamwork and technical proficiency.

Job Details

  • Location: Not specified, in an acute care hospital setting with trauma level 1 status.
  • Schedule: Straight evenings, 8 hours per shift, with potential for 10-hour days, rotating to PM shifts, including 1 to 2 days of call per week and every 3 to 4 weekends.
  • Certification and Education Requirements: BLS Certification; RN license (ND or Compact) required; minimum of 2 years of recent OR RN experience.
  • Experience: Large hospital experience preferred, with at least two years of OR RN experience working in acute settings involving neuro, ortho, general, GYN, urology, and laparoscopic cases; experience with navigation and robotics (DaVinci) is advantageous.
  • Responsibilities: Documenting procedures, sterile prepping, patient positioning, equipment setup, and assisting in complex surgical cases primarily in neuro and ortho specialties.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with computerized charting systems post-EPIC implementation, and operating room equipment such as cautery, lasers, laparoscopic tools, arthroscopy devices, and Stealth navigation.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to other units or campuses if needed.
  • Additional Requirements: Scrub color is provided (Ceil Blue); must badge in and out at the facility; must have or be willing to obtain license to submit.
