Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse position in a healthcare facility, with a focus on providing specialized surgical support across various service lines. The role involves circulating and scrub responsibilities, supporting trauma, robotics, neuro, ortho, and general surgeries. This position offers a dynamic environment at a Level I trauma center, requiring flexibility to float across multiple campuses.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 10 hours per shift, a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: 24 months of current operating room experience, hospital or medical center experience prioritized; circulating or scrub experience highly preferred; experience in general, Da Vinci Robotics, pediatrics, and trauma cases required; additional experience in neurology, orthopedics (primarily trauma), gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ENT, vascular highly preferred; EPIC electronic medical systems experience within the previous 3 years required; Trauma Level I experience highly preferred; Level II trauma experience required; no first-time travelers, must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 9 months; active Iowa license or multistate/compact license required; BLS (AHA) certification required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level I experience highly preferred; specific case experience includes neurology, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ENT, vascular; scrubbing experience wanted.
- Additional Information: The position involves working in a fast-paced environment with approximately 35-50 cases daily and quick turnovers (less than 20 minutes). Use of 3 Da Vinci robots, Stealth technology for neuro navigation, and primary use of Synthes or Stryker for ortho trauma. The facility has 16 OR suites running from 12 to 14 routinely, with space reserved for traumas. The role includes floating across campuses, with scheduled orientation dates on 09/21, 09/28, 10/05, 10/12, and 10/19. The candidate must be available to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day). No on-call required.
