Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse Location: Not Specified. This full-time position involves working within the peri-operative department, supporting surgical specialties such as general, OB/GYN, urology, orthopedics, podiatry, ENT, cardiovascular, and bariatrics. The role includes circulating surgery cases, preparing for procedures, and managing OR room setup and turnover, with a focus on organizational skills and accurate note-taking.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Valid RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS preferred. Minimum two years OR experience required.
- Schedule: Full-time, 8-hour shifts, rotating call (1-2 days per week), every 2nd-4th weekend, rotating holidays.
- Responsibilities: Support surgical procedures with equipment such as arthroscopic pumps, shavers, cautery machines, lasers, fracture tables, and C-arm X-ray. Utilize computerized charting via the Epic system, with medications stored in the Pyxis system and Pharmacy. Assist in patient care in the OR, Patient Center, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
- Floating: Floating to other units including Patient Center (pre-op, post-op, outpatient services) and PACU may be required.
- Unit Details: Four OR suites, one procedure room, eight PACU bays, and 18 patient rooms. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1 in OR, 1:1-4 in Patient Center depending on patient needs, and 2:1 in PACU.
- Orientation: Initial department orientation plus equipment and workflow training, with in-depth training as needed.
- Submission Requirements: Valid license to submit, charting system EPIC.
- Additional Information: Cancellation policy allows client to cancel up to 12 hours in advance every 13 weeks.
- Start Date: 11/09/2026, End Date: 02/08/2027.
