Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse - Location unspecified. This role involves providing surgical nursing care in a Level I trauma center, supporting various service lines excluding cardiovascular (CV). The position offers a fast-paced environment with a focus on trauma and general surgery cases, requiring clinical expertise and flexibility to meet the needs of the facility.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois license (or in application process), minimum 2.5 years of OR experience, BLS certification, Level I trauma experience, general surgery and trauma case experience including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, mastectomy, thyroidectomy, Whipple, cervical fusion, craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion, arthroscopy, carpal tunnel release, fracture reduction, free flap microvascular surgery, organ donation, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, MVA injuries, emergency response skills including code response, fire safety, latex allergy, malignant hyperthermia, use of electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana tables, and infection control protocols. Requires active Illinois license or in application, with at least 2.5 years of OR experience and a minimum of 2 years of travel experience.
• Schedule: Evenings shift from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM, 10-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Preferred Qualifications: CNOR certification, Cerner charting system experience.
• Additional Information: Candidate must work with all service lines except cardiovascular, and be able to perform laparoscopic assisted, open, and trauma-related procedures. On-call requirement of one week per month, with potential for occasional floating within scope of practice. All candidate submissions must have active or in-process Illinois license, be prepared to complete compliance modules prior to start, and provide availability for interviews.
