First Connect Health is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Apple Valley, California.

Position: RN – Operating Room
Location: Apple Valley, CA
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: 12 hour nights | 36 hrs/week


Pay Package (36 hrs): 
Total Weekly Gross: $2681/week 
Non-Taxable Stipend: $1505/week 
Taxable (W2): 
Regular: $28/hr × 24 hrs = $672
Overtime: $42/hr × 12 hrs = $504


Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience.
  • Travel experience: Required; previous travel assignment experience.
  • Certification: BLS required.
  • EMR: Epic preferred.
  • Shift: Night shift, 3 × 12-hour shifts, 6:30 PM–7:00 AM.
  • Scheduling: Block scheduling not available.

Required Clinical Skills

The candidate should have relevant experience in the following OR procedures and skills:

  • General surgery: Appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, and laparoscopic procedures.
  • Vascular surgery: AAA repair, AV fistula repair, carotid endarterectomy, and femoral-popliteal bypass.
  • Orthopedics: Arthroscopy, fracture reduction, and total joint replacement.
  • Neurology/spine: Laminectomy, discectomy, and spinal fusion.
  • Urology: Cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and TURP.
  • Gynecology: Hysterectomy, D&C, C-sections, and laparoscopic gynecologic procedures.
  • Safety and core skills: Infection control, laser and radiation safety, specimen handling, surgical time-outs, and urinary catheterization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACLS certification.
  • Epic experience.
  • Experience with EVAR, robotic surgery, trauma cases, endoscopic procedures, and specialized OR equipment.
