This position involves providing specialized nursing care in the operating room environment within an acute care setting. The role requires scrubbing and circulating for ophthalmology procedures, including cataracts and corneal surgeries, ensuring patient safety and procedural efficiency.

- Position Description:
The OR Nurse will support ambulatory surgery procedures in a surgical department, performing duties related to ophthalmology such as scleral buckle, vitrectomy, corneal transplants, and cataracts. Responsibilities include scrub and circulating roles for minor general surgery, spine stabilization procedures, ENT surgeries, and dental procedures. May be required to float to other surgical departments as needed. - Required Qualifications:
CPR/BLS certification (AHA); minimum of 1 year of OR nursing experience; strong ophthalmology background with the ability to independently perform cataract and cornea procedures; experience in scrubbing and circulating ambulatory surgeries; valid nursing license; shift schedule includes 8-hour days Monday through Friday with potential late finishes and call responsibilities including weekends and holidays. - Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in ophthalmic surgery and familiarity with EPIC charting system is preferred. - Schedule:
Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Shifts may extend beyond scheduled hours to complete cases. Call is required up to every other weekend with a 30-minute response time; call rotations include weekday, weekend, and holiday shifts. Floating to other surgical departments may be required. - Submission Requirements:
