Operating Room Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in West Virginia
• At least 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) nursing experience
• Strong orthopedic, neurological, and trauma surgery experience required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to work four 10-hour day shifts and participate in scheduled call coverage
• Experience with electronic clinical documentation; Cerner experience preferred
• Willingness to complete required orientation, facility modules, and pre-assignment laboratory requirements

Operating Room RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care throughout the perioperative experience
• Prepare operating rooms, surgical equipment, supplies, and patients for procedures
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative care team
• Provide circulating and/or scrub support based on experience, competency, and department needs
• Support orthopedic, neurological, trauma, and other surgical cases
• Monitor patient status, maintain sterile technique, and promote compliance with surgical safety standards
• Accurately document patient care and surgical procedures in Cerner
• Participate in scheduled call coverage, averaging two call shifts per month
