Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) specialist position located in Springfield, Illinois. This role involves working within a Level I trauma center at an acute care hospital with a total of 562 beds. The OR nurse will perform a variety of general and trauma surgical procedures, providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Open to travel healthcare professionals with a minimum of 2.5 years of experience in the operating room setting.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, 10 hours per shift, minimum 40 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), at least 2.5 years of experience in the operating room, Illinois license in hand or in application process, trauma level I experience, general OR experience, and specific case skills/experience such as laparoscopic assisted, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, thoracic, neurology, orthopedics, plastic surgery, transplant, urology, trauma, emergency management procedures, and equipment/instrumentation experience including electrosurgical units and fiber optic light sources
  • Preferred Qualifications: Certification in CNOR and Cerner charting system experience
  • Travel Experience Required: Yes
  • Additional Information: The position involves working with all service lines except cardiovascular (CV). Will require active float within scope to meet facility needs and working in a dynamic hospital environment with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, radiology, pharmacy, and more. The role requires working with all major holidays except specified days off, with accommodations for requested time off subject to approval by management.
  • On-Call Requirement: Yes, approximately once per week, with less frequency currently.
