Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with a MT or compact license and at least 2 years of OR experience for a busy surgical suite performing a wide range of procedures.

Details

  • Hospital-based Operating Room setting with 15 ORs plus a hybrid room shared with the Cath Lab
  • Average of 45 cases per day between OR and CVOR
  • Surgical caseload includes General, GYN, Urology, ENT, Plastics, Podiatry, Ortho, Neuro, Vascular, Thoracic, Robotics (Davinci), and Trauma (no transplants)
  • 4x10-hour day shifts scheduled 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM
  • Weekend rotation required for scheduled weekend needs
  • On-call responsibilities include one weekday call night per week and one weekend call per 4-week period
  • No floating required
  • Uses Cerner EMR
  • Uses Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing system
  • Unit-specific equipment includes cell saver, Belmont rapid infuser, glucometer, and Davinci robotics

Requirements

  • Active RN license (MT or compact) required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience required
  • Experience with the surgical specialties and case types listed above required

Additional Information

  • Work alongside a support team including Charge RN, staff nurses, CNAs, and CSTs
  • First week of orientation paired with a preceptor, with additional OR orientation led by an educator across General, Ortho, and Neuro specialties
  • Holiday coverage expected approximately 50% of the time, potentially more based on need
  • RTO requests must be approved by the manager in advance
  • Scheduling is done in 4-week increments, with 8 weeks of schedule provided about 2 weeks in advance
  • Scrubs are provided
  • Free parking available in designated areas, with a paid garage option
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
