Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse and Scrub Technician positions are available in a healthcare facility located in Presque Isle, Maine. These roles involve supporting a busy surgical department with a diverse case load, including general surgeries, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, gynecology, and orthopedic procedures. The positions require candidates to be flexible in scheduled hours and on-call duties, with a focus on trauma and emergency cases.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, with on-call rotations from Friday 1500 through Monday 0630, including one weekday after 1500 and weekends from Friday 1500 to Monday 0630.
- Required Qualifications:
- RN: BLS, ACLS (preferred) Certifications or Education Requirements including state licensure as an RN.
- Scrub Tech: BLS, National Certification (e.g., TSC through NCCT or CST through NBSTSA).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN or CST in operating room settings.
- Experience with general surgeries including bowel, gallbladder, appendix, and hernia procedures.
- Must have circulating experience for C-sections, trauma cases, ER cases, and emergency general cases.
- Experience with after-hours/on-call cases is required.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- ACLS certification for RNs.
- Total joint experience for orthopedic cases (preferred).
- Additional Information:
- Support on the unit includes supervision by OR educator and CRNA staff.
- Orientation period of approximately 2 weeks, depending on skillset and comfort level.
- Technology includes Cerner electronic medical record system, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing.
- Scrubs will be provided; free parking available.
- RTO approval required from management.
- Schedule cycle repeats every 6 weeks.
