Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic surgical team. This role involves providing high-acuity surgical support in a multi-service Level-II Trauma Center, working alongside experienced cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in high-acuity surgical procedures related to cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries.
• Provide general operating room proficiency, including circulation and support across core service lines.
• Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems, specifically EPIC, to ensure accurate documentation and patient care management.

Qualifications

• Experience in cardiothoracic surgery is preferred, including scrubbing experience, though not required.
• General proficiency in the operating room is essential.
• Unrestricted, active RN license is required (must be valid in Virginia or a compact state).
• BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.

On-Call Expectations

Availability for four weekday call shifts from the end of the shift until 7 AM, as well as four weekend call shifts covering both day and night shifts on Saturday and Sunday per month will be required.

Unit Description

The operating room consists of 15 surgical suites, including one hybrid OR, and is staffed by three cardiothoracic surgeons and five vascular surgeons, providing a collaborative and challenging environment.

Shift Information

This position requires a commitment to a day shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30.
