Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse specializing in Neurosurgery is needed at a healthcare organization located in Somerset, Kentucky. This position involves providing specialized circulator support for neurosurgery procedures including cranial, cervical, thoracic, and lumbar surgeries. The role requires a dedicated professional capable of managing advanced neuro-surgical equipment within a fast-paced surgical services unit.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Day shift with 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing), at least one year of nursing experience, current nursing license.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with neuro cranial, cervical, thoracic, and lumbar cases; knowledge of pain pumps and spinal cord stimulators (SCS) procedures; Meditech documentation experience; familiarity with Jackson bed, Mazor robot, Stealth Navigation, and other neuro-surgical equipment.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to general operating rooms if neuro cases are not scheduled.
- Additional Information: This position is a replacement for a permanent staff member. The nurse must be accountable, dependable, self-sufficient, and serve as a patient advocate for a team of three surgeons. The candidate must be able to work with advanced neuro-surgical equipment and demonstrate flexibility in scheduling including possible float shifts starting either at 6:30 or 8:00 am.
