Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This role requires an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care within a surgical environment. The assignment is 13 weeks long, with anticipation for immediate start.

Shift Details

• Shift Schedule: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM, three twelve-hour shifts per week.
• Weekend shifts may be required.

Unit Information

• Location: Anchorage, AK
• Operating Room: 11 ORs
• Typical Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Staff Composition:
  • Day Shift: Average of 8 RNs, 8 Scrub Techs, and 5 Surgical Support Techs.
  • Night Shift: One Charge RN and one Scrub Tech in-house with call team backup.
• Equipment: A variety of OR beds and equipment.
• EMR: Epic.

Responsibilities

• Act as a patient advocate while being a resource for the sterile field.
• Assist with various surgical procedures including:
  • Total Joint replacements.
  • Multi-level spine fusions.
  • Xi Robotic cases (GYN, Colorectal, General).

Qualifications

• Required: Two years of experience in an Operating Room setting.
• Required Certifications:
  • Current RN license for the state of Alaska.
  • BLS.
  • ACLS.
• Preferred:
  • Experience as a circulator and scrub nurse.
  • Certification in Operating Room Nursing (CNOR).

Call Requirements

The position includes a call expectation of approximately 5-6 weekday shifts and 1 weekend shift within an 8-week sign-up period, subject to variation.
