DAY-SHIFT OPERATING ROOM (OR) RN CONTRACT – AUBURN COMMUNITY HOSPITAL

First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel contract opening for an experienced Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) in Auburn, New York (Finger Lakes Region). Operating within the surgical services suite at Auburn Community Hospital, this position features a desirable 4x10 daytime schedule (07:00 AM - 17:30 PM / 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM). First-time travelers are considered on a case-by-case basis! PRE-CALCULATED PAY PACKAGE

  • Weekly Gross: $2,406.00
  • Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,246.00
  • Hourly W2 Rate: $29.00/hr (40 regular hours)
  • Overtime Rate: $43.50/hr

SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

  • Schedule: Day shifts, 4x10-Hours (07:00 AM - 17:30 PM / 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM). Block scheduling is not offered.
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 regular hours guaranteed weekly (facility call-off policy: up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract).
  • Weekend & Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) rotations.
  • On-Call Requirements: Standby on-call rate is $8.00/hr ($119.27/hr call-back rate at 1.35x).
  • Surgical Specialties & Focus:Strong Orthopedics experience is strictly required (total joints, arthroscopy, ORIF, open/closed reductions, and spine/laminectomy). Caseload also encompasses General surgery (laparoscopic cases, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resections, hernia repairs), Urology (cystoscopy, TURP, nephrectomy), ENT, and Thoracic procedures.
  • Perioperative Scope: Circulating surgical cases, Universal Protocol (Time Out), specimen handling/labeling, infection control, laser/radiation safety, blood product administration, and Cell Saver equipment coordination.
  • Floating Scope: Float per facility operational needs.
  • EMR System: Paragon (on-site training provided).

REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical Operating Room RN experience is required, with recent bedside OR experience within the past year. Strong Orthopedic surgical competency is mandatory.
  • Licensure: Active New York State (NYS) RN License in hand OR proof of pending NY application (must provide exact date of application submission). License must have zero disciplinary hits/actions.
  • Certifications Required: * American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
    • NIHSS is preferred.
  • Local Policy: Local candidates are accepted (under adjusted local bill rate guidelines).
