Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with experience in the Operating Room to provide exceptional care during surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in circulating and scrub roles, along with expertise in vascular and orthopedic surgeries.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Conduct patient assessments and create individualized care plans.
• Maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment, ensuring all protocols are followed.
• Educate patients on pre and post-operative care processes.
• Monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being throughout the surgical continuum.
• Coordinate and integrate patient care effectively within the surgical team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of current operating room experience.
• Experience floating to vascular, orthopedic, trauma, general surgery, robotics, urology, and ENT specialties.
• Travel experience is required.
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical record system is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Experience in both scrub and circulating roles is necessary.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
• The ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.

Additional Information

This position offers a day shift from 11 am to 11 pm, with no weekend requirements and limited on-call commitments. The operating room features 14 surgical suites, and candidates will have the opportunity to work across various surgical specialties, excluding cardiac and ophthalmology.

Applicants are required to provide documentation of their New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate and complete a 14 panel drug screen prior to starting the assignment.
