Travel Nursing Job Details

• Schedule: 10-hour day shifts
• Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week
• Call Requirement: 1–2 nights of call per week, plus three 24-hour weekend call shifts during the assignment
• Call Response Time: 30 minutes
• Float Requirement: None

Operating Room Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Virginia or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license at the time of submission
• At least 2 years of recent operating room or perioperative nursing experience
• Strong orthopedic surgical nursing background
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Prior Cerner experience preferred
• Ability to meet the required 30-minute call response time
• Availability for the full 13-week assignment and scheduled call rotations

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing orthopedic procedures
• Prepare operating rooms, equipment, instruments, and supplies for scheduled surgeries
• Function effectively in the circulating and/or scrub role according to experience and unit needs
• Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and the broader healthcare team
• Maintain sterile technique and support infection prevention and patient safety standards
• Monitor patient status, anticipate surgical needs, and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Complete accurate clinical documentation and support safe transitions of care
• Participate in assigned nighttime and weekend call coverage
