OR RN – Canton, MS

Shift: 5x8 or 4x10, 6:45 AM–3:15 PM, Monday–Friday
Contract Length: 13 weeks (91 contract weeks available)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Radius Requirement: 50-mile radius rule; locals accepted at $64/hr

Facility Details:

• 67-bed facility
• 4 ORs + 1 procedure room
• 15–22 cases per day
• Surgery types: General, ortho fractures and scopes, plastics, GI, urology, pediatric dental, surgical oncology (no total hip/knee experience required)
• No scrub/circulate requirement (RN only)
• No floating to other units
• Charting System: Epic
• Med System: Omnicel
• BSN not required
• Orientation: on-unit + Healthstream virtual education, 1-week unit orientation

Call Requirements:

• 2 weekdays and 1 weekend of call per month

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience required
• Active BLS – AHA required
• Active ACLS – AHA required
• PALS – AHA required (for pediatric cases)
• Flu vaccine required at UMMC (medical exemption only, with documented evidence of prior severe reaction)
• Fingerprinting required — remote process allows 10 days; in-person option available at Jackson or Grenada campus the week prior to start
• License to Submit: Yes
