Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse - Thoracic/Vascular Team Location unspecified. This position involves providing specialized perioperative nursing care within a high-acuity hospital environment. The role requires proficiency in thoracic and vascular surgeries, with experience in endovascular cases. The candidate will work with adult patients undergoing a range of complex procedures, including transplant, trauma/neuro, and other advanced case types. The schedule consists of 12-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with the potential for float within the OR.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid compact or Tennessee nursing license; certification in perioperative nursing (e.g., CNOR) must be on file at time of submission; minimum of 2 years OR experience; thoracic and vascular surgical experience required; prior travel nursing experience preferred; all circulators and scrub nurses should be proficient in endovascular procedures and capable of scrubbing.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with adult patient population in high-acuity settings; familiarity with a variety of case types including trauma, transplant, and robotic surgeries; previous experience working in a Level 1 trauma center.
- Additional Information: Orientation dates are scheduled for 09/28/2026 and 10/05/2026, with no orientation on 09/07/2026 or 09/21/2026. The assignment duration is 26 weeks, with limited time off and required coverage during holidays. The position entails taking four late stays during a 13-week contract, with late stays rarely exceeding one hour past the scheduled shift end unless during peak periods such as summer or December. The role may include floating between OR locations, but not across different hospital sites.
