Job Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse license for Washington, DC; pending DC licensure may be accepted if proof of pending status is provided at submission and the active license is in hand before the start date
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience
  • At least 1 previous travel nursing assignment required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
  • Strong surgical nursing background with experience in multiple service lines
  • Comfortable floating within units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
  • Ability to work a dynamic schedule that includes call and occasional weekends
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and adaptability in a high-acuity surgical environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled circulating support in the Operating Room for a diverse surgical case mix
  • Assist with procedures including total joints, spine, craniotomy, free flaps, cytoreduction, bariatric, and ENT/OMF cases
  • Support surgeries across specialties such as bariatrics, ENT, neurology, orthopedics, and urology
  • Prepare the OR, coordinate equipment and supplies, and help maintain a safe, sterile surgical environment
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and the surgical team to ensure efficient case flow
  • Adapt to floating assignments within appropriate units when needed
  • Deliver patient-centered care with a focus on safety, efficiency, and excellent clinical outcomes
