Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide safe and effective nursing care to surgical patients throughout the perioperative process.

The OR RN will work closely with surgeons, surgical technologists, anesthesia providers, and the multidisciplinary surgical team to ensure safe patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients throughout the perioperative process.
• Prepare patients for surgical procedures and verify patient identification, procedure, and surgical site.
• Assist with maintaining a safe and sterile operating-room environment.
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the surgical team.
• Monitor patients and respond appropriately to changes in their condition.
• Assist with positioning, surgical preparation, and other perioperative activities.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and surgical records.
• Participate in surgical counts and follow established safety protocols.
• Ensure proper handling and labeling of specimens.
• Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and hospital policies.
• Provide appropriate patient and family education as required.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork, communication, and critical-thinking skills.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Operating Room / Perioperative RN experience.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and perioperative nursing practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• BLS – Basic Life Support
• ACLS – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
• Active Texas RN License OR Compact RN License
