RN – Operating Room 

Location: Odessa, TX 79761 

Duration: 13 weeks 

Shift: Days, 3x12 hours (6:30 AM–7:00 PM), Friday–Sunday | No call

 

Requirements:

  • 2–3 years of OR experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • Travel experience required
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS required
  • Cerner experience required/preferred (some experience is mandatory)
  • Teaching, community, and LTAC experience required
  • Trauma Level II experience required
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Charge experience preferred
  • Experience with Da Vinci Xi robotic surgery preferred
  • Experience in orthopedic, spine/neuro, general, GYN, ENT, ophthalmology, pain management, urology, vascular, and trauma procedures

Description:

  • Provide perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced Operating Room setting.
  • Assist with a wide range of surgical procedures, including robotic, orthopedic, spine/neuro, general, gynecological, vascular, and trauma surgeries.
  • Support Da Vinci Xi robotic-assisted surgical procedures.
  • Assist with procedures involving ENT, ophthalmology, urology, pain management, and cardiovascular specialties.
  • Monitor patients during conscious sedation and cardiac monitoring.
  • Administer blood and blood products as required.
  • Perform specimen handling, labeling, wound management, and peripheral IV insertion.
  • Follow infection control protocols, radiation and laser safety, and universal protocols, including surgical time-outs.
  • Maintain patient safety during all phases of perioperative care.
  • Work with adult and pediatric patients, including neonates and geriatrics.
