Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients as per organizational policies and professional nursing standards. The RN will utilize specialized nursing knowledge and skills to provide high-quality care to patients, ensuring safety and comfort during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patient needs prior to, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in accordance with established protocols.
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately and thoroughly.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding procedures and post-operative care.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards.
• Demonstrate accountability for nursing services delivered by self and others under supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a General Operating Room setting.
• Experience in GYN, bariatrics, vascular, orthopedic, neuro, and plastic surgeries.
• Active RN license in Maryland, with verification less than 30 days old.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• COVID-19 vaccination required; declines not accepted.
• Flu vaccination required; declines not accepted.
• Ability to work within a fixed schedule without restrictions.
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred.

Compliance Requirements

All candidates must be willing to complete a 48-hour compliance process as a prerequisite for hire.
