Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Position Overview

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) will provide high-quality care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The OR RN is responsible for both circulating and scrubbing surgical procedures across various specialties, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and safety throughout the surgical process.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the operating room and ensuring all necessary equipment is available.
• Circulate and scrub during surgeries, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to provide exemplary patient care.
• Monitor patient status before, during, and after surgeries.
• Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures.
• Support and participate in departmental initiatives to improve patient outcomes and the overall care environment.

Work Schedule

Details include working three 12-hour shifts during the day with the potential for on-call shifts, weekend shifts, and holiday coverage as needed. Flexibility in scheduling may be required based on departmental needs.

Qualifications

• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room setting is preferred, with first-time travelers accepted.
• Licensure: Must possess a South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license.
• Certifications: Current BLS certification and a Radiation Badge (provided by the agency) are required.
• Trauma Experience: Experience in a Level 1 trauma center is strongly preferred.
• Special Skills: Proficiency in both scrub and circulating roles is ideal.

Additional Information

• Travelers may need to float between units as necessary.
• Parking permit registration will be required, with associated costs for usage of designated garages.
• All requests for time off (RTO) must be made at the time of submission and are subject to approval based on facility needs.
• During hurricane season, all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams to address storm impacts.
