Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our operating room team. This is a seasonal travel position with a day shift schedule, primarily focusing on weekends and an additional weekday shift. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Unit Information

The operating room consists of 14 operating rooms including a hybrid cardiovascular OR and a cystoscopy room, supporting a diverse range of surgical procedures. The unit is staffed with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring a collaborative approach to patient care.

Schedule

• Saturday through Monday, 7 AM to 7 PM
• One rotating weekday shift covering third shift as needed

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-operative assessments and provide care during surgical procedures.
• Assist with circulating and scrubbing duties.
• Collaborate with a team that includes anesthesia technicians, surgical technologists, and leadership staff.
• Ensure a safe and sterile environment in the operating room.
• Provide excellent patient and family support before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of current hospital acute care experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in circulating and scrubbing roles.
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical record system.
