Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse located in a healthcare facility environment. This position involves managing a variety of surgical cases including vascular, neuro/neurohybrid, thoracic, robotics, transplant, general, orthopedic, hand, spine, podiatry, gyn, and carotid/endare procedures. The role requires circulating experience and proficiency with support technologies and equipment, supporting a team of nurses and technicians during surgeries.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts weekly, with start times at 0630, 1030, and varying hours; minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; circulating experience, Foley catheter, chest tube management, AED experience; valid RN license; 2 years of experience in surgical or operating room settings.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with robotic surgery (Da Vinci D5 robotic system) is preferred but not required.
- Support within the Department: Managed by a supervisor, with a team typically including 1 registered nurse and 1 technician per case.
- Technology/Equipment: Electronic Medical Record system (Cerner), IV pumps (Plum ICU Medical), medication dispensing system (Omnicell), surgical equipment including Bovie, tourniquet, harmonic scalpel, operating room bed, stretcher; robotics experience preferred but not required.
- Floating: Relief for others during lunch breaks within the OR department as needed.
- Orientation: Full OR orientation included, consisting of three days (0630-1900) or four days (0630-1700) or three days (1030-2300).
- Holiday and Weekend: Rotation based on unit needs; on-call required with a 40-minute response time; holiday schedules and time off need approval.
