Job Summary
Operating Room Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Location: Not Specified. This position involves providing direct nursing care to adult and pediatric patients within the surgical setting. The role requires independently planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care in accordance with standards of care and hospital policies, with a focus on various surgical specialties including General, GYN, Oncology, Breast, Plastics, Orthopedics, and Robotics (XI). Night shifts are scheduled for 12 hours, with at least 36 hours per week.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education, and Experience Requirements: Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida. One year of recent operating room experience is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association is required. Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association is required. Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows. EPIC experience is required; the candidate will be required to take and pass an EPIC assessment on their first day of assignment.
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Responsibilities: Locates and documents medical and nursing patient care information, utilizes appropriate interview techniques, and delivers patient care with effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Administers medication safely and accurately, evaluates care outcomes, and completes charting thoroughly. Serves as a preceptor for new employees and maintains effective communication with patients and their families. On-call responsibility will be required.
- Required Qualifications: Licensed RN or APRN in Florida, 1 year of OR experience, BLS and ALS certifications, proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows, and EPIC.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC and scrub experience.
