Travel Nurse (RN) - Operating Room

Job Requirements

Education Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing school

Certifications Requirements:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required for all roles)
  • CST (Certified Surgical technologist) certification preferred for Surgical Assistants
  • CSFA (Certified Surgical First Assistant) certification preferred for Surgical Assistants

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1+ year of CVOR experience across all specialties
  • Prior travel experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance in high-paced surgical environments

Other Requirements:

  • Strong CVOR background with the ability to efficiently support CABG, TAVR, Valve replacements, Thoracic (robotic lobectomy, hernia repair), and transplant surgeries
  • Operating machines for blood gases, TEEs, ultrasounds (supporting Anesthesia Tech role)
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Physical stamina for long shifts and on-call responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide circulatory support during cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries, ensuring patient safety and procedural efficiency
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to prepare and manage instrumentation, supplies, and case preference cards
  • Maintain sterile environments and assist with case setup and cleanup
  • Document patient information, surgical details, and intraoperative events accurately in EPIC and other charting systems
  • Execute on-call duties, responding promptly to emergencies and supporting anesthesia and surgical staff as needed
