Key Responsibilities
- Act under the direct supervision of surgeons to perform advanced first assist duties including suturing, providing surgical exposure, and controlling bleeding
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, OR technicians, and other surgical team members to deliver patient care in the Operating Room
- Provide first assist support for OB-GYN procedures including C-sections and robotic surgery, as well as general surgery including robotics
- Adhere to State Nurse Practice Act, AORN standards, regulatory requirements, and facility policies and procedures
- Fulfill OB call requirements on a rotating schedule (one week on, one week off)
Required Qualifications
- Active Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Successful completion of an RNFA program meeting AORN standards
- RNFA credentialing through either the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Commission for the Certification of Surgical Assistants (NCCSA)
- Placement on the Oregon RNFA Registry
- Minimum of 2 years of RNFA experience with a strong focus on OB-GYN and general surgery
- Prior travel nursing experience required; local candidates will not be considered
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with robotic-assisted surgical procedures in both OB-GYN and general surgery settings
- Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in overnight and on-call surgical environments
