Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care in an acute care operating room environment across trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopedic surgical cases
- Participate in on-call rotations distributed equally among nursing staff approximately every 6 weeks, which may include up to 6–8 shifts per 6-week period covering nights, evenings, and weekends
- Float between like units within the facility as needed
- Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
- Commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Adhere to weekend scheduling requirements as part of the standard rotation
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in California; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience, including trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopedic surgical specialties
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Pending licenses are not accepted
- Must submit all requested time off and scheduling preferences at time of submission; post-submission RTO requests may not be considered
- Local candidates are welcome; applicants must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered under travel terms
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with variable start times and flexible scheduling in a high-acuity surgical environment
- Familiarity with Epic charting in a perioperative setting
- Prior experience floating between sister or like units in a multi-facility health system
