Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Rotating Shifts | Onsite | 8-hour shifts with various start times (0645, 1045, 1445) | Call required approximately once per week on weeknights, every 3rd to 4th weekend, and on holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care across a high-volume OR environment handling 25–45 cases per day across 15 operating suites
- Support a wide range of surgical specialties including general, GYN, urology, plastics, robotics, neuro, orthopedics, spine, EENT, and cardiothoracic procedures
- Scrubbing required as part of regular RN duties
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including surgical techs (1–2 per patient) and CNAs to ensure safe, efficient room turnover and patient care
- Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
- Participate in on-call rotation, including weeknight, weekend, and holiday call assignments
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
- Minimum of 3 years of OR nursing experience
- Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience scrubbing in multiple surgical specialties
- Familiarity with Epic EMR
- Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced OR setting
