    Registered Nurse (RN) – General Surgery / Operating Room

    Location

    Reno, Nevada

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract (Travel) | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | 40 Hours/Week Guaranteed | Shift: Monday 0645–1915, Wednesday 0645–1515, Thursday 0645–1515, Friday 0645–1915 | Approximately 2 call shifts per month

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide optimal patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across a Level II Trauma OR environment
    • Deliver comprehensive nursing services to a broad patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics, including their families and caregivers
    • Support a high-volume OR consisting of 18 operating rooms performing procedures such as trauma, neurosurgery, robotic surgery (Da Vinci Xi), urology, vascular, open heart, general surgery, orthopedic trauma, pediatrics, plastics, and ENT
    • Demonstrate cognitive and psychosocial competency specific to the age groups served, meeting unit and department age-specific competency standards
    • Coordinate care between interdisciplinary professionals and exercise sound clinical judgment in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting
    • Maintain accountability for individualized patient outcomes across the entire episode of care
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Nevada State RN License required prior to start date
    • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Trauma OR setting
    • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) completed within 1 year of start date
    • CBC with Differential bloodwork required prior to start
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with robotic-assisted surgical procedures, including Da Vinci Xi systems
    • Familiarity with neurosurgical procedures such as ACDF, spinal fusions, or craniotomies
    • Prior experience in a high-volume trauma center environment operating at a Level I or Level II pace
