Schedule / Job TypeContract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Wednesday–Friday, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM | Onsite | Department staffed 24/7; call required (5–6 call shifts per month); call shift options include 11:00 PM–7:00 AM Monday–Thursday or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM Sunday night
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct perioperative nursing care in a high-volume operating room environment with a 1:1 patient ratio
- Perform scrub and/or circulating duties across a range of surgical specialties including orthopedics, neuro/spine, robotics, plastics, and Level 1 trauma
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary OR team including charge nurses, coordinators, CSTs, anesthesia techs, and OR assistants
- Accurately document patient care activities using Meditech EMR
- Fulfill on-call obligations as scheduled, including nights and weekends, in a department that operates 24/7
Required Qualifications- Active RN license with eligibility to practice in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of operating room nursing experience
- Demonstrated experience in orthopedic surgery (trauma, total joint, revisions)
- Experience in neuro/spine procedures
- Experience with robotic-assisted surgery (gynecology, colorectal, thoracic, and/or urology)
- Experience in plastics and Level 1 trauma cases
Preferred Experience / Skills- Familiarity with Meditech EMR
- Comfort working in a large, fast-paced OR environment with 23 operating rooms and a staff of 85+
