RN – First Assist / Operating Room (OR)

Contract | Travel | Days | 13-Week Assignment | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Directly assist surgeons during operative procedures by performing tasks such as suturing, providing exposure, and controlling bleeding
• Support the surgical team — including surgeons and anesthesiologists — throughout all phases of surgical procedures
• Ensure the operating room is properly cleaned and prepared before, during, and after each surgical case
• Operate under the supervision of the surgical team while maintaining Kentucky Surgical Assistant Certification compliance

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky (or compact eligibility)
• Kentucky Surgical Assistant Certification through the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure
• Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Commission for the Certification of Surgical Assistants (NCCSA)
• Minimum of 2 years of First Assist / Operating Room experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Non-local candidates only; locals will not be considered for this position

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a high-volume surgical environment
• Familiarity with a wide range of surgical specialties and procedures
• Strong ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary surgical team
