Travel Nurse RN - Operating Room in Houma, LA

Key Responsibilities Provide perioperative nursing care across a range of surgical specialties including general, urology, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, vascular, pulmonary, and endoscopy procedures. Key Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a range of surgical specialties including general, urology, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, vascular, pulmonary, and endoscopy procedures
• Support an average daily census of 11 cases across 5 operating rooms, serving an adult and geriatric patient population
• Participate in an on-call rotation including one call weekend per month (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), one call day per week, one late day per week, and one third-late shift per week
• Complete required facility modules during orientation, which are factored into orientation hours
• Be available to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's) based on departmental needs and staff rotation
• In the event of an emergency, be prepared to report as assigned by unit management, which may include remaining at the facility until the event passes or serving as part of a relief team

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — compact or Louisiana license required and must be in hand at time of submittal
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Operating Room specialty required; 3 or more years preferred
• NURSYS report must be submitted with profile and must be current (within 4 weeks of submission date)
• Two manager or supervisor references (not charge RNs) will be required prior to start; references must be submitted in PDF format
• Must live more than 65 miles from the facility (as measured from the address on file with the driver's license to the facility) to be eligible — local travelers are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 3 or more years of Operating Room experience strongly preferred
• Experience across multiple surgical specialties including urology, orthopedics, vascular, and endoscopy
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
