    Key Responsibilities
    • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing interventions, plans of care, and patient goals in the perioperative setting
    • Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, clinical coordinators, and surgical technicians to ensure patient well-being throughout surgical intervention
    • Maintains sterile fields and oversees the correct care, handling, and sterilization of sterile supplies and instruments
    • Applies principles of aseptic practice and oversees the selection and preparation of supplies, equipment, and instrumentation for all surgical cases
    • Maintains sponge, needle, and instrument counts per policy and procedure, and communicates results to the surgeon

    Required Qualifications
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
    • Current Massachusetts RN license required
    • ACLS required upon hire, OR active BLS with AHA ACLS obtained within 60 days of hire
    • Ability to function effectively in an environment with competing priorities
    • Excellent communication skills, ability to multitask, and a positive, can-do attitude
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior Operating Room nursing experience strongly preferred
    • CNOR certification strongly preferred
