    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Operating Room

    Location

    Fargo, ND | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Days | 8 or 10-hour shifts, Monday–Friday | On-call rotation of 1 weekend every 6 weeks plus 1 call day per week | Stay-late shifts expected 1–2 times per week as an extension of the core shift

    Key Responsibilities
    • Serve as a circulating nurse, providing documentation and direct patient care throughout the operative setting across a system supporting 33 operating rooms
    • Perform sterile prepping of surgical sites, catheter insertion, and proper patient positioning for a variety of surgical procedures
    • Open and manage sterile supplies and set up operating room equipment as directed
    • Document patient care accurately within an electronic health record system (EPIC-based charting)
    • Operate and assist with equipment including Omnicell, cautery units, lasers, and laparoscopic equipment
    • May float to other campuses within the Fargo system, each located within approximately 20 minutes of the primary location, on a rare as-needed basis
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse license in North Dakota or a Compact state (willingness to obtain ND licensure accepted)
    • BLS certification required – must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
    • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in the Operating Room
    • Experience in a large hospital setting, Level 2 trauma center or higher
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced OR environment
    • Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates living between 60 and 80 miles may be considered at a local travel rate
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with General Surgery, GYN, and Urology cases
    • Proficiency with laparoscopic surgical procedures and related equipment
    • Familiarity with EPIC-based electronic charting systems
