Travel RN – Operating Room Circulator

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days – Four 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM) with on-call requirements; rotating weekends. On-call: approximately 6–8 shifts per month (1–2 per week). Weeknight call runs 5:00 PM to 6:30 AM the following morning. Weekend call is a 24-hour shift (Saturday or Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM).
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the circulating RN in the operating room, demonstrating critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in patient care planning and delivery.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, OR technicians, and other surgical team members to provide safe, high-quality patient care in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act, AORN standards, and facility policies.
- Ensure appropriate supplies are available and cases proceed in a timely manner.
- Communicate with patients' families and provide updates as appropriate throughout the surgical process.
- Maintain and update physician preference cards to reflect current surgical requirements.
- Scrub and assist physicians during surgical cases as needed, and supervise personnel involved in patient care delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Operating Room Circulator.
- Current ACLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross).
- Current BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross).
- Current PALS certification (AHA or American Red Cross).
- Robotic surgical experience required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience scrubbing in addition to circulating in a variety of surgical specialties.
- Familiarity with regulatory and accreditation standards governing surgical departments.
