Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning of patient care in the operating room
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other personnel to deliver safe, high-quality patient care in accordance with State Nurse Practice Act, AORN, and applicable regulatory standards
- Ensure availability of necessary supplies and maintain timeliness of surgical cases
- Communicate with patient families and update physician preference cards as needed
- Scrub and assist physicians during surgical cases as required
- Participate in on-call coverage: expected 6–8 on-call shifts per month (approximately 1–2 per week); weeknight call runs 5:00 PM to 6:30 AM; weekend call is a 24-hour shift (Saturday or Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM)
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in the state of Florida (or compact eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an OR Circulator
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- PALS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- Robotics experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in a surgical or perioperative setting
- Familiarity with AORN standards and best practices in the operating room
- Experience supervising or directing personnel delivering patient care in a surgical environment
