Key Responsibilities
- Apply the nursing process within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing to deliver patient-centered care
- Float between the Medical Care Unit, Post Surgical Unit, and Intermediate Care Unit/PCU as assigned
- Educate patients and significant others regarding care plans, procedures, and health management
- Accurately document all patient care activities in the medical record
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate overall patient care
- Respond effectively to patient crisis and emergency situations while maintaining consistent, punctual attendance
Required Qualifications
- Active Oregon RN license or willingness to obtain prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience (required)
- Recent hospital experience within the past 5 years (required)
- Ability and willingness to float to the Medical Care Unit, Post Surgical Unit, and Intermediate Care Unit/PCU
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a PCU or Intermediate Care setting
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced, rapidly changing clinical environment
- Strong patient and family education skills
