    Job Title

    Travel Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR) Circulator

    Location

    Carlsbad, NM | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM | 5x8-hour shifts | On-call required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Serve as the circulating RN in the operating room, demonstrating critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning and delivering patient care
    • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other OR personnel to ensure safe, high-quality surgical care in accordance with State Nurse Practice Act, AORN, and regulatory standards
    • Ensure availability and readiness of surgical supplies and maintain timeliness of cases
    • Communicate with patient families and update physician preference cards as needed
    • Scrub in and assist physicians during surgical cases across a variety of specialties
    • Participate in on-call rotation, including a minimum of one weekday per week and weekend rotation (Monday–Friday 3:30 PM–7:00 AM; Saturday–Sunday 7:00 AM–7:00 AM)
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
    • Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience
    • Experience with general, orthopedic, OB/GYN, podiatry, plastics, endoscopy, trauma, and DaVinci robotic surgical cases
    • Adult and pediatric patient experience required
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Familiarity with a high-volume surgical environment (approximately 250 procedures per month)
    • Experience working in a facility with multiple operating rooms in a 1:1 patient ratio setting
    • Strong communication and organizational skills in a fast-paced surgical department
