    Registered Nurse – Operating Room – Open Heart

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Full-Time | Days | 40 hours/week | Onsite — Schedule options include four 10-hour shifts (6:45a–5:15p primary, rotating to 9a–7:30p) or five 8-hour shifts (6:45a–3:15p, rotating to 11a–7:30p). Includes one weekend of call per month (Friday 7pm–Monday 7am, 30-minute response time), one short call shift per week (2–4 hours), and one overnight CVI call shift per week (7pm–7am, cardiac or endovascular emergency call). Holiday availability required.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Circulate in at least 3 of the following service lines: cardiac, vascular, endovascular, or thoracic (robotic)
    • Provide perioperative nursing care in a high-acuity open heart and cardiovascular surgical environment
    • Participate in on-call rotations including cardiac and endovascular emergency coverage
    • Scrub in surgical procedures as needed (scrub experience highly preferred)
    • Adhere to all surgical safety protocols, sterile technique standards, and facility compliance requirements
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
    • Minimum 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience required
    • 1–3 years of related nursing work experience required
    • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
    • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (local travelers will not be accepted)
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience in a teaching hospital setting
    • Specialty area expertise in cardiac, vascular, endovascular, or thoracic surgery
    • Scrub technician or RN scrub experience in cardiovascular procedures
