Key Responsibilities
Accurately assess patients' needs utilizing multiple data sources to determine actual and potential health problems and functional status
Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care interventions, modifying the Nursing Plan of Care and protocols as appropriate
Administer medications safely, accurately, and in a timely manner using barcode medication verification (BMV) scanning and review physician orders promptly
Communicate patients' clinical status effectively to the healthcare team during clinical rounds and change-of-shift reports
Assume a leadership role in organizing patient care, delegating care interventions, and supervising support staff
Lead response during medical and psychiatric emergencies and facilitate critical incident debriefing following emergency events
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Massachusetts or compact eligibility
Experience in an operating room or surgical suite setting
Demonstrated ability to prioritize patient care needs and apply evidence-based nursing practice
Proficiency in accurate clinical documentation including Nursing Plan of Care, protocols, and Assessment Flowsheets
Ability to perform point-of-care testing and communicate findings to the multidisciplinary team
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience utilizing a Recovery Oriented Framework to identify and support patient strengths and recovery goals
Prior experience leading patient groups and participating in multidisciplinary treatment planning
Familiarity with de-escalation techniques and least-restrictive intervention strategies
