We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join a rural hospital in Devils Lake, ND. In this role, you will provide expert perioperative nursing care across the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of patient care. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the broader surgical team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes for every patient.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform comprehensive preoperative patient assessments and prepare patients for surgical procedures
• Serve as scrub or circulating nurse during a variety of surgical cases including general, orthopedic, and specialty procedures
• Maintain strict sterile field technique and ensure adherence to aseptic protocols throughout each case
• Accurately document intraoperative nursing care, counts, and patient responses in the electronic health record
• Anticipate surgeon needs and manage surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures
• Conduct thorough sponge, instrument, and sharps counts in accordance with facility policy before, during, and after surgery
• Communicate critical patient information during handoffs to PACU or ICU nursing staff using standardized reporting tools
✅ Requirements
• Active ND or Compact RN license
• BLS/BCLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
• 2+ years of Operating Room experience
• CNOR certification preferred
Pay
Pay range: $3,160 to $3,267 per week.
Travel OR RN package: up to $3,267/week (40 hours) = $50/hour taxable + up to $1,267/week in travel reimbursements if eligible under IRS tax-home and expense rules.
Local package: $79/hour fully taxable ($3,160/week for 40 hours).
Overtime paid in accordance with applicable wage-and-hour laws and the assignment agreement. Actual compensation varies based on hours worked, assignment terms and travel reimbursement eligibility.
