Urgent Care Registered Nurse
Job Summary
This role is for an experienced Urgent Care Registered Nurse at a facility in Juneau, Alaska, operating within an ambulatory care setting. The successful candidate will be integral to the overall operation of the clinic, providing direct patient care and supporting medical staff.
This position at SEARHC requires a commitment to delivering excellent quality of care and services, ensuring efficient resource utilization, and maintaining compliance with established standards. The nurse will play a key role in patient care coordination, clinic flow management, and maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment for a diverse patient population presenting with urgent, non-life-threatening conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive clinical services, collaborating with providers and clinic staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Support the efficient operation of the clinic, including front desk and patient care activities.
- Manage medication inventory and supplies not on the Warehouse PAR system.
- Perform necessary quality control checks for Point of Care tests.
- Accurately and timely document all care and services provided.
- Oversee the opening and closing procedures for provider clinics.
- Assist providers and other staff, anticipating needs to ensure efficient and quality patient care.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to serve as a resource for patients, providers, and colleagues.
- Maintain required skill sets, annual competencies, and certifications.
- Participate in in-services and educational programs, completing all mandatory training.
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including adequate supplies and equipment upkeep.
- Report defective or missing equipment and safety hazards promptly.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent Urgent Care experience, acquired within the last two (2) years.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proof of current Flu Vaccine.
- Ability to complete fingerprint card processing for background checks; start date will be no less than 5 weeks after fingerprint cards are received for processing.
