Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Primarily Days Hours per Shift: 8 or 10 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Required Certifications: ACLS BLS Must-Have: Ability to circulate various surgical cases including but not limited to general, gynecology, urology, orthopedics, neuro, ENT, oral, and plastics. Description: The department has 16 surgical suites. The average number of cases per day is 28. Common cases include bowel resections, laparoscopic procedures, orthopedic surgeries, and cesarean sections. Ability to circulate orthopedic cases like total joints and arthroscopy is essential. Circulating neuro, ENT, and plastic surgeries is a requirement. Scrubbing is required for certain cases. Charge nurses and house supervisors are available in the operating room. Staffing is maintained 24/7. Electronic medical record system utilized is Cerner. Shifts are primarily day shifts from 0700 to 1730 with occasional evening shifts. Evening shifts may include 1500 to 2330 approximately every 5 weeks. There is a possibility for night shifts based on experience. Call requirements include 1-2 nights per week and 1 weekend every 5-6 weekends. Holiday call is required at least once per year. Response times for call teams vary based on the team assigned. Floating may be required to other facilities. Uniforms are provided. Unit-specific orientation will include essential training and coverage of necessary procedures. All clinicians are required to clock in and out at the facility.
