Description:
The operating room nurse is responsible for scrubbing and/or circulating duties for operative procedures.
This role includes department admissions to the operative suite.
The nurse adheres to standards and appropriate aseptic techniques.
Consultation and coordination with team members are essential to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative patient care plans.
Serves as a communication liaison to patients, families, and members of the operating team.
Prepares the operating room for the patient and surgical procedure.
Assembles equipment and supplies, ensuring equipment is functional and supplies/implants are available.
On-call variation is required to provide trauma coverage as needed.
Call shifts will vary depending on staffing and PTO.
Holiday call may be required for specific holidays.
