Candidates must have experience with various surgical procedures including abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, hysterectomy, and laparoscopic procedures. Responsibilities include administering blood products, monitoring patients during conscious sedation, and ensuring adherence to infection control protocols. The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and participate in maintaining a safe and sterile environment. Ability to respond to code situations and provide emergency care when necessary is essential. The role requires effective communication skills and the ability to manage patient care efficiently. On-call shifts may be required, which will be defined as 7a-7p or 7p-7a. Candidates should be prepared for potential weekend shifts as part of the scheduling. Nurses with experience in a fast-paced surgical environment will be preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances are essential for this role. Formal education and specialized training relevant to surgical nursing will be evaluated. Candidates must be committed to professional development and staying current in nursing practices.
