Description:
Position is for an Operating Room Registered Nurse in a surgical department.
The unit consists of 6 suites with an average of 22 cases per day.
Common cases include scleral buckle, vitrectomy, corneal transplants, cataracts, minor general surgery, minor spine stabilization procedures, spinal cord stimulators, ENT procedures, and dental.
The schedule is Monday to Friday with a start time of 6:45 AM and end time at 3:15 PM.
Nurses may be required to stay late until cases are completed.
Call shifts are required on a minimum of 1 weekday per week with a 30-minute response time.
Weekend call may be necessary, up to every other weekend, also with a 30-minute response time.
Holiday call is rotated, with a 30-minute response time required.
Floating to other surgical departments may be necessary.
Scrubs will be provided.
Candidates must have experience in both scrubbing and circulating for ambulatory procedures.
Experience in ophthalmology is essential, specifically including cataract and cornea surgeries performed independently.
